The Seattle University community grieves the unexpected and untimely death of Vice President for Human Resources Jerron Lowe, who departed us on February 15, 2026, at the age of 45. We are very grateful for a life so brilliantly lived. In 2022, Jerron enrolled at Seattle University. His extensive expertise, moral character, and sincere concern for others made him an invaluable colleague and leader.
Known for his thoughtfulness, generosity of spirit, and engaging smile, Jerron’s presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to colleagues, students, and staff across campus. His loss is a significant blow to the university, his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jerron Lowe was widely admired for his unwavering commitment to building inclusive, supportive workplaces and for the way he led with empathy and authenticity. In his role as Vice President for Human Resources, he oversaw talent acquisition, employee relations, professional development, diversity initiatives, and organizational culture efforts during a period of significant growth and change at Seattle University.

On Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., Seattle University will have a memorial Mass at the Chapel of St. Ignatius on campus in remembrance of Jerron Lowe. All members of the college community and the general public are welcome to attend the service.
The chapel will be available for peaceful meditation, recollection, and sharing of Jerron’s life and legacy from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. after the Mass. This event provides a chance for family, friends, coworkers, students, alumni, and everyone who appreciated him to unite in appreciation for the gift of his presence and the numerous ways he enhanced the institution and beyond.
