Jeanny Patrice Helton Death: Gainesville, GA – Wife of Reverend Carl Helton Has Passed Away

Jeanny Patrice Helton, 67, died on January 10, 2026, at her residence in Gainesville, Georgia. She was a native of the city, born there on March 17, 1958, to the late Edward Eugene Smith and Vivian Thomas Smith, and maintained a lifelong connection to the region.

Her marriage to Reverend Carl Helton of Lula constituted a central and enduring relationship. She is survived by their three daughters: April Worley (Mikey) of Maysville; Nicole Stanley (Charles) of Homer; and Carla Wilbanks (Johnathan) of Lula.

She derived profound fulfillment from her grandchildren: Amber Worley (Tyler), Beth Worley, Jacqueline Whisinant (Brayden), Gyna Tullis (Timmy), Becca Wilbanks, Joshua Whisinant, Colton Wilbanks, and Cohen Wilbanks. Her seven great-grandchildren were a further source of joy. Additional survivors include her mother, Mrs. Inez Smith, and her brothers, Michael Smith (Joann) and Phil Smith (Joann).

A period of visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 12, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, located on Memorial Park Road in Gainesville. Funeral rites will be conducted in the chapel of the same establishment on Tuesday, January 13, at 2:00 p.m., with Reverends Allen Passmore, Terry Sosebee, and Dexter Gravitt presiding. Committal will follow at Mercy Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her life was distinguished by deep familial devotion, quiet fortitude, and a legacy that persists through her extensive family and those acquainted with her gentle character.
