It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jasmyn Alexandra “Alex” Ahrens, a cherished resident of Pasadena, Maryland, who left this world on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the age of 34.
She was born on August 1, 1991, at Malcolm Grow Medical Center, and her departure has left her family, friends, and community with hearts heavy from the loss of a woman whose presence brought joy, comfort, and light into every space she entered.
A 2009 alumna of Chesapeake High School, she pursued further studies at Anne Arundel Community College before establishing herself within the hospitality sector. Her professional demeanor was noted for its authentic cordiality, with a welcoming presence that enhanced the experiences of patrons. She maintained a particular connection to Cookie’s Kitchen, her grandmother’s establishment, a venue imbued with familial history.
Alex’s career in hospitality reflected her natural gift for making others feel welcome. With her infectious smile and positive spirit, she left a lasting impression on coworkers and guests alike. Whether greeting patrons or working behind the scenes, she carried a warmth that made every encounter memorable. Her professional life was not just about service—it was about creating moments of joy and connection, something she excelled at effortlessly.
Deeply connected to her roots, Alex found joy in returning to her grandmother’s beloved restaurant, Cookie’s Kitchen, a place woven with family history and treasured memories. It was here that she strengthened her bond with family and community, cherishing the traditions that shaped her upbringing. Cookie’s Kitchen was more than a restaurant to Alex—it was a symbol of love, heritage, and the enduring ties that held her family together.
Her immediate and extended family provided the foundation of her personal life. She is survived by her spouse, Gregory Florentino; her mother, Yolanda Ahrens; her father, Trent Winge; grandparents Lee Hofmann and Cookie Kiser; a brother, Brett Rogers; sisters Kaylee and Loren Winge; an aunt, Laura Rebstock; an uncle, Shawn Rebstock; and cousins Blake and Reed Rebstock. Her enduring friendships with Heather Skrzecz and Kristen Paskoski were also integral to her life.
Family and friends will have the opportunity to honor Alex’s life during a visitation on January 10, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. This gathering will provide a space for loved ones to reflect, share stories, and support one another as they celebrate the life of a woman who touched so many hearts.
