Harry Chernoff began his public service career in 1990 as a young legislative assistant to then-Congressman Chuck Schumer in Washington. He later transitioned to law enforcement, serving as an AUSA in the Manhattan office of the SDNY where he handled complex federal cases with the same dedication and integrity that defined his entire professional life. Colleagues from those early days through his later years described him as a brilliant and compassionate advocate who always put the pursuit of fairness first.
