Drew Cookenmaster, a 29-year-old resident of Hodgenville, Kentucky, was killed in a tragic traffic collision on the morning of Monday, February 16, 2026. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:46 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 near mile marker 103, close to Lebanon Junction, which lies near the border of Hardin and Bullitt counties. According to the Kentucky State Police, the crash involved a blue Hyundai SUV driven by Cookenmaster and a commercial tractor-trailer.
Investigators reported that traffic had slowed in the area due to an earlier crash near the 106-mile marker. The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as 52-year-old Shakisha Brewington of Schertz, Texas. Brewington was not injured in the crash.
