Dr. Robert Ames Death: Bolton, ON – Golf Revolution Canada Founder Has Unexpectedly Died

The loss of Dr. Robert Ames, the renowned creator and owner of Golf Revolution Canada, has brought the people of Bolton, Ontario, and the Canadian golf community together in sadness. At the age of 58, Dr. Ames passed away quietly on February 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, guidance, and camaraderie that went well beyond the fairway.

A passionate visionary, Dr. Ames transformed Golf Revolution from a small retail concept into one of the most respected golf destinations in the Greater Toronto Area. Located in Bolton, the store became a premier community hub where golfers of all skill levels found not only top-tier equipment but also expert coaching, club fitting, swing analysis, and a welcoming culture of genuine encouragement.

He built a team of certified professionals and fostered an environment where beginners felt supported and experienced players could refine their game. His commitment to customer service, education, and the growth of the sport earned Golf Revolution a loyal following and made it a go-to resource for golfers across southern Ontario.

Dr. Ames was a loving father to Emily and Christopher and a committed husband to his wife Margaret. He made time for special occasions and proudly and encouragingly supported his children’s endeavors while juggling the duties of a successful business with a strong dedication to his family. His family was the real focus of his life, and his love for Margaret and his kids served as the cornerstone for all of his career accomplishments.

A Celebration of Service will be conducted at St. Andrew’s United Church in Bolton on Saturday, March 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. to honor his extraordinary life. In honor of Dr. Ames’ kindness, vision, and the great impact he had on so many lives, family, friends, old clients, members of the golf community, coworkers, and everyone else who adored him are welcome to come and share.
