Bohlman, a skilled craftsman, devoted husband, and respected member of the Eland community in Wisconsin, who died peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the age of 76, surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of LeRoyer Hospice.
Born on January 25, 1950, Dean spent his life building not only structures but also deep, lasting relationships through his work ethic, integrity, and genuine care for others. He lived most of his adult years in the Eland and Birnamwood area of Shawano County, where he became a familiar and trusted figure known for his craftsmanship and willingness to help neighbors, friends, and fellow veterans.
In a ceremony held on October 21, 2006, Dean and Joanne Bielen were married, ushering in a loving relationship full of companionship and support for one another. Through every stage of life, Joanne was his loyal wife, closest friend, and constant companion, enjoying the simple pleasures of home, family, and travel. Together, they established a cozy, inviting home that embodied Dean’s principles of diligence, compassion, and commitment.
Dean took immense pride in being a loving husband, stepfather, grandfather, and friend, offering steady encouragement and quiet strength to those he held dear. His marriage stood as a testament to enduring commitment and the deep fulfillment found in a life shared with someone who truly understood and cherished him.
Bohlman Construction was owned and operated by Dean, a highly accomplished artisan who developed the company over decades of hard work and experience. His skills have influenced many apartment complexes, duplexes, commercial establishments, assisted living facilities, community-based residential facilities (CBRFs), and individual houses throughout Wisconsin, Colorado, and Hawaii throughout the years.
Dean approached every project with pride and professionalism, often going beyond expectations to ensure the finished result exceeded what was promised. His work left a visible legacy in communities throughout three states, where structures he helped create continue to serve families, businesses, and residents.
A proud veteran, Dean served his country with honor and carried the values of duty, discipline, and service into civilian life. He maintained strong ties to fellow veterans and remained active in supporting military traditions and camaraderie. His life reflected a deep sense of responsibility—not only to his craft and his family but also to the broader ideals of patriotism and community contribution.
Dean’s quiet strength, dry humor, and steady reliability made him a person others naturally turned to for advice, assistance, or simply good company. He lived simply yet meaningfully, finding satisfaction in honest labor, time spent with loved ones, and the knowledge that his efforts made a tangible difference in the lives of others.
At 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Dean’s store, located at N7482 Hummingbird Rd., Birnamwood, military honors will be presented by the American Legion’s Darling-Gunderson Post #341, Birnamwood. Following that, there will be a viewing and luncheon to provide a chance for family, friends, former customers, coworkers, fellow veterans, and community people to come together in commemoration.
This farewell reflects the deep respect Dean earned through his service to country, his craftsmanship, and his devotion to family. The gathering provides a meaningful space to share stories, offer comfort, and give thanks for the gift of his life.
