As the Sonata reached the intersection area near Port Freeport, the driver initiated a left turn across the southbound lanes. The maneuver placed the sedan directly in the path of Dilleree’s approaching motorcycle in the 100 block.
The Hyundai Sonata struck the Harley-Davidson broadside in the front of Port Freeport. The impact ejected Dilleree from the motorcycle onto the pavement of FM 1495. The collision caused severe trauma to the young rider and minor front-end damage to the turning vehicle.
