It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anita Mary Harralson, 84, of Greenville, Kentucky, who departed this life on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Anita was born on February 23, 1941, in Muhlenberg County to the late Clarence Putnam and Thelma Wines Putnam. A woman of faith and service, she shared her musical talents as the pianist at Second Baptist Church, where her music uplifted and inspired many. Professionally, she dedicated her life to caring for others, retiring as a registered nurse at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Doug Harralson, her daughter, Robin Gail Toll, and her sister, Deetra Slaughter. Their memories remained close to her heart, and she carried their love with her throughout her life.
Graveside services to honor Anita’s life will be held on Saturday, January 10, at 11:00 AM at Green’s Chapel Cemetery in Greenville, Kentucky. Bro. Jeremy Teague will officiate the service, offering words of comfort and remembrance for a woman who touched many lives with her kindness and devotion.
Anita leaves behind a loving family who will continue to cherish her memory: her son, Charles (Lori) Toll; her daughter, Charla (James) Coleman; four grandchildren, Candace Tabor, Craig Tabor, Derrick Vincent, and Andrew Toll; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pat Putnam and Keith (Genon) Putnam; two sisters, Linda (Wayne) Thompson and Sharon Putnam; and her special caregiver, Lisa Putnam. Each of them carries forward the lessons of love, faith, and compassion that Anita instilled.
Her passing is a profound loss to her family, friends, and community, but her legacy of service, music, and devotion will continue to resonate. Anita Mary Harralson will be remembered not only for the roles she fulfilled but for the love she gave so freely, leaving behind a legacy that will endure for generations.
